A while ago, [livejournal.com profile] linda_lupos and I were talking about the Dutch HBP.

Linda: (Blah blah blah)... and RAB is RAZ...

Me: Isn't "Sirius Black" "Sirius Zwarts" in the Dutch books?

Linda: Exactly!

So, yes. Possibly actual proof. I mean, why specifically Z as an initial if that's not the case?

By the way, Happy Belated Thanksgiving to fellow  Americans!

That is very, very interesting. Hmmm. I wonder if we could, I don't know, cross-verify it with other editions - French, German? Do you know anyone who'd have other language editions?

Apparently, according to TLC, the Swedish edition also has a translation that would mean that RAB = Regulus.

Just to avoid disappointment, I should mention that the Dutch translator doesn't have Jo's telephone number. It's just an educated guess - but it looks like RAB is Regulus anyway. :)

As far as I know, 'Black' hasn't been translated in the German edition (I haven't read it, though).

The French edition would have to say "R.E.N." then.

Very interesting, that.
Ooooh, to be a translator... :)

OMG, a classmate just told me it was signed RAZ today! (I'm Flemish.)
Then it must be, innit? But then Wiebe Buddingh' did translated "Blaise Zabini" to "Bella Zabini", and we know that wasn't right.

I think RAB is Regulus simply because there's just no hiding clues anymore at this stage, not with eagle-eyed readers running loose...

He changed into "Benno" in HBP. ;)

From Blaise to Bella to Benno, all without surgery. Magic sure is a wonderful thing. ;-)
Heh. Yeah, I've seen you around on the 'Quill (I go as Songbird there), and here I am, commenting on your LJ. Hi!
