A while ago, linda_lupos and I were talking about the Dutch HBP.

Linda: (Blah blah blah)... and RAB is RAZ...

Me: Isn't "Sirius Black" "Sirius Zwarts" in the Dutch books?

Linda: Exactly!

So, yes. Possibly actual proof. I mean, why specifically Z as an initial if that's not the case?

As far as I know, 'Black' hasn't been translated in the German edition (I haven't read it, though).

The French edition would have to say "R.E.N." then.

Hmmm... I haven't read the French versions since GoF, but I think they kept the name Black, so it would still be RAB.

ETA: I just checked on Google and they didn't translate Black to Noir. So it probably still is RAB in HBP.

I don't know, I've never read them in French.

Sirius Black was not translated to Sirius Noir in French, the name is the same.
