A while ago, [livejournal.com profile] linda_lupos and I were talking about the Dutch HBP.

Linda: (Blah blah blah)... and RAB is RAZ...

Me: Isn't "Sirius Black" "Sirius Zwarts" in the Dutch books?

Linda: Exactly!

So, yes. Possibly actual proof. I mean, why specifically Z as an initial if that's not the case?

That is very, very interesting. Hmmm. I wonder if we could, I don't know, cross-verify it with other editions - French, German? Do you know anyone who'd have other language editions?

It is. Another edition changed it to R.A.S cause the last name was Svart. I don't remember which one.

What language is 'Svart'? German is 'Schwartz', so would 'svart' be Swedish or Danish or something?

according to the comment below, it was the Swedish edition.
