But sometimes life gives you lemons. So have some cliche lemonade, and find out what people would say in their 30 Days of Thanks if they were completely honest with - and about - themselves.
Day 1 - I'm thankful for the sun being so bright, and that I didn't rear end the guy in front of me.
Day 4 - I'm thankful for maple syrup; not so much the cavities.
Day 8 - I'm thankful that for all my life's gone downhill these past few months, I've still got Faith. If only she didn't already have a boyfriend...
Day 12 - I'm thankful that I finally paid my bills, bills, bills; I'm jumpin', jumpin'.
Day 15 - I'm thankful Austin passed his math test. (65% is passing, right?)
Day 19 - - I'm thankful for the love of my life. Someday, Jensen Ackles will tweet me back.
Day 23 - I'm thankful for my cat. He got stuck in a tree and I had an excuse to call the fire department. :)
Day 28 - I'm thankful for beer and football, the two things that get people to stop talking.
Day 30 - I'm thankful that the holiday crazines is ov - oh shit, Christmas.

Date: 2013-11-07 01:53 am (UTC)I've kept gratitude journals in the past - private paper journals - and I found them helpful, but I was also a bit worried that something public on FB would become more what I wanted others to read than what I needed to write.
So I guess I'm grateful I didn't do the meme. :P

Honestly, I've gotten that impression from some of my friends who've done it, especially the ones who ALWAYS only post about how amazing and perfect their life is. It's sad in a way, annoying in another - I'm not always sure which I should be! That's a large part of why I wrote this.
And yeah, it IS helpful to keep journals and the like. It's just not always necessary to broadcast it. I should start more privately journaling again... I did a bit of it in my teens, although of course reading them is hilarity.
