No Good Speech Goes Unstartling

So, this morning, I was listening to As Long As You're Mine and No  Good Deed Goes Unpunished (from Wicked).

Well, I get to Speech class...

 

... and one of my classmates, Donna, has a scarecrow on a table. She is preparing for a speech on how to save Fiyero make a scarecrow.

On the commentary, I did remark that she'd "also succeded in making Wicked fans grin." She'll probably end up having no idea what I'm talking about, but I couldn't resist.

Talk about creepy, though!

Ya, but if you'd listened to the musical soundtrack...it's not too difficult to figure out. (9 more days until I see it again!)

Yeah, but I think it's because you have to try. I always assumed Elphaba's voice was a flashback, like in the beginning - that she was in the background or however it works.

What I actually meant was if you listened to songs like "Dancing Through Life"...it's not hard to put two and two together. At least, that's how it was for me before I saw the musical.

Ohh, I thought you meant that you could tell Fiyero lived. Yeah, "life's more painless for the brainless", "maybe I'm brainless" - though if you've never seen or read Wizard of Oz (and some people haven't), that's not so obvious.

I do love how they tied together everything with lyrics - "Dear Galinda, you are just too GOOD." "If you're looking for me, look to the Westeren Sky..." it's a bit much, but neat too.
