It's before the suicidal teenagers, though that's a parody begging to be written, now that you mention it. Duels... well, they're played out on different stages.

I always admire people with the balls to wear Yankees caps in Massachusetts. They have poor taste in sports teams of course, but they're not lacking in the old Gryffindor courage. ;)

Ahh speaking of Yankees and Sox...Two couples came in today, both decked out in ball caps. One coulple in Boston, and one with Newyork. They came in together too, I figured there must be a joke to it but I wasn't sure.

We went to Boston on a trip last fall and wore our Yankee garb everywhere. I think the hotel manager was serious when he said, "If you don't take those caps off right now, I'm going to murder someone."

*g* One time my dad and I were driving my grandfather's car around town (in Central Ohio) and kept getting people honking angrily at us and flipping us off... we couldn't figure it out until we got home and realized my grandfather's car had a Michigan Football bumpersticker on it.

I definitely don't understimate the... passion of sports rivalries! :P

It's a good thing this all sounds like it's in good fun. Unfortunately, here it's full of hooligans. When the Chilean allstars team plays, they always have to remind the fans of two specific teams not to wear the latters' colors, because fights are bound to break out. Things like what that manager said up there will at least give you a laugh.

(of course, I'm aware that the more "dangerous" sports fans are everywhere, I'm just speaking for what I'm aware of in my little corner of the world).

I hope you and your dad stayed safe! I own some Yankees gear, but never wear it when I'm at school, except around friends who already know I'm a Yankees fan. :) At least you're not there in October!
