<P>Gacked from Laura Evans:</P>

<P> "Some of you I hardly know at all, but you friended me and I thank you. But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so... she wears mismatched socks." I'd love it if every single person who friended me would do this. Yes, even you people who I know really well. Then post this in your own journal."</P>

A random thing about myself:

I hate wearing socks and to a point, shoes. My favorite shoes are flip-flops and sandals. I go barefoot a lot. In yearbook, I usually took off my shoes and walked around barefoot or in my socks if I was forced to wear socks (the room was carpeted). Sometimes I took my shoes off in other classes, although I usually didn't walk around shoeless. I love getting pedicures, of course (got one today!) so that my footsies are pretty barefoot. And I usually get hot pink polish.

YOu sound like my Mom. I don't mind shoes and socks, but I like it in the summer when I don't have to wear them.

I am a HUGE bluegrass fanatic. I live, breathe, and eat bluegrass 24/7. My favorite band is Mountain Heart. I have loved them since I was 13 years old. From the moment I first saw them, I was determined to marry the fiddle player, Jim VanCleve, who was about 19 at the time. I still think he's a hunka burnin love, but I don't expect a full grown musician living in Tennessee to suddenly fall in love with me in the middle of a fiddle solo, as all of my thirteen year old fantasies were like :P Hahaha, hope that was sufficient :P

I've heard a little bluegrass - mostly Alison Crouse.

I love to sing. Anything that comes on the radio, including any classical music I happen to know, I sing at the top of my lungs. It quite annoys the family, I am sure.

I'm a southern girl who's obsessed with tennis. I haven't been playing for very long, but after I started I quickly got hooked. That was just the first thing that popped in my head to describe me :)

I wondered who the anonymous poster was! ;) And tennis is cool, though I don't play it. I can watch it in mild understanding of what's going on, though, which is unusual for me with sports.

And as you know, my house is highly haunted.

I've given up saying just "haunted".

My house has graduated to "highly haunted".

I spent the Christmas before last in the state of Sonora, Mexico at a casita that belongs to my best friend's grandparents. While in San Carlos (http://www.sancarlosmexico.com/), on the Sea of Cortez, I climbed Mount Tetakawi without any gear. It took five hours, though locals told my party it would take only two -- of course, the locals knew how to recognize the marked paths to the summit, and because my friends and I did not, we ended up forging our own way without a clue.

The best part is, I did it all without chipping a single red slicked nail. :)

I was stopped for speeding six times before I was ever given a ticket. Apparently I was very good at talking my way out of them.

LOL! You got me!

Yeah, I confess to being a handful when I was young...did a lot of stupid things that I really regret. Kids today are a lot smarter than we were back then. :D

I can sing all kinds of songs in Latin, including "Jingle Bells" and "When the Saints Go Marching In." I can do the Pledge of Allegiance, too.

My routine everyday (with slight deviations).

I wake up.

I shower.

I fire up the computer.

I fire up iTunes.

I put Here Comes The Sun by the Beatles on repeat.

I then carry on with my normal business.

That song always makes me so happy. :)

I've got the song "Us" by Regina Spektor in my head at the moment. I love singing it, and it's rather difficult to sing. Oh, and I do wear mismatched socks. ;) And mismatched shoes, as well.

You actually want to know something about me? lol.

I'll tell you several things so maybe you'll remember one of them when you think of me. :)

When I was in high school, I played Varsity volleyball, basketball, track and cross country. But it always seems that I get injured with sports, things that may never go away.

I'm very musical, or at least I love to listen to music 24/7. I know how to play the piano and I have had lessons for the flute, cello, organ (one lesson that ended out badly, actually the big empty church with the open organ valves freaked me out and I didn't want to have to sit in the dark by myself practicing drills again), various recorders... I also can sing but I don't like to sing solos. My mom used to make me when I was little and I used to hate it but I'd do it anyway because she asked me to, and all those people were expecting it, I guess. Or maybe I wanted to? I really can't remember only that I didn't like singing in front of people.

I'm really old fashioned. XD I like old fashioned ideas and notions but I'm very liberally minded. I love Victorian fashion, wish that it would become "normal" clothes so everyone could wear it and not be looked at strangely.

I used to make 3 dimensional objects as a hobby in high school for a place called Cybertown. They had a "mall" there and you could sell your stuff and people would "buy" it if they liked it and put them in their homes.

My brother and I make up personalities for out stuffed animals and dolls and even now we still play with them. It's very amusing.

And I love popsicles!

And I'm a fanfiction junkie, but i think you already knew that. :) I love mentor fics!

Oh, I played with dolls till I was about fifteen, and while I've outgrown dolls (but know a lot of people who still play with them besides you), I DO act out stuff I write.

I have written a piece of Draco/Ginny fluff. It still resides in the Pit.

From RL - I used to have long hair. Really long. Like past my hips. I would constantly sit on it. But I cut it when I was 12.

I think we all cut our hair around t he ages of 10-13. I knew a few people who held out longer.

(Mine's gone from really long to chin length to shoulder length).

Or, I can (probably) identify the differences between eras of Greek artwork.

If there's more emotion, more movement (and chances are, if the figure is reclining) it's a Hellenistic sculpture. The oldest pieces have impassive nude figures simply stepping forward slightly, called kouros. Classical sculptures have the perfect dimensions and the ethereal, beatific air about them, and are often free-standing sculptures as well, except in more interesting positions; instead of merely stepping forward, they're perhaps leanding casually on a column, or maybe in mid-spin of throwing a dicsus.

I once won a costume contest at AmberCon dressed as a man, false moustache, strapping and all, and even people who knew me quite well didn't recognize me or realize I was female until I opened my mouth. Years later, I completely fooled someone else dressed as Silent Bob. (And believe me, I'm distinctly female when not in costume!)
