Days 1-3

04. Share your favorite stories from your current fandom love(s)/ship(s). Tell us why they're amazeballs if you're so inclined.

I already kind of did these, and it's so hard to choose anyway, but I'll share two stories.

Harry Potter:  I remember how on several occasions, major tragedies stuck, and fandom came together to make sure everyone was okay, help find friends. 9/11 and the June 7th 2005 bombings in London in particular come to mind. I had my phone on all day, trying to make sure my friends in London were okay, checking on LJ, not giving a stuff what my boss thought. I know these aren't happy, but they are powerful memories that come to mind.

Earth's Children:  On one of the few messageboards for the fandom , we had the most epic troll ever. He was from the future, possibly an alien (I don't really remember - it was around the time Doctor Who came back, I believe, so...) and had traveled back to the ice age at some point. I really wish I could find his old posts, but the site had some problems a while back, and I think like this troll, they were lost in the time-space vortex. Unfortunately this person apparently stopped being funny and got kind very nasty towards mods in private messages, but at least he made us laugh for a while there. The thing is that we weren't always 100% sure if it was a troll or a sockpuppet pulling everyone's leg.

LOL OMG, and I thought it was already epic when on a skijumping forum (my first fandom forum) we had a troll pretending to be one of the olympic skiers. But wow, nothing beats a scifi troll, they literally have no limit. :D

That actually sounds pretty epic, too. And yet I'm almost not surprised that happened.
