- Fought with fax machine at work because I did not realize when it said "calling", it did not mean I'd dialed the phone by accident.

- Told my Mom I had to remember to take *Memorial Day* off work(even though my parents *own* the place I work, and I should know full well it is always closed).

- Said "guten tag" for *goobye*.

A Guten Tag, means more have a good day than good bye, exactly but's it's pretty close. Were you saying it as a german phrase or a yiddish phrase?

German... I didn't know it was a yiddish phrase. The only yiddish I know is "oy vey", and I only have a vague idea of what it means.
