There is a song verse in my head, and I cannot, for the life of me, figure out where it came from - if its a real song, a song someone made up, or if I just made it up on my own.

It goes:

Susie, Susie, Susie Sue
Susie, Susie, I love you

I don't think its the 70's punk song - it's of a similar "flavor" as songs like "My Irish Rose" or "I Want A Girl." It doesn't have the tunes of any of those, but from the way the verse goes, it sounds as if its an innocent, old fashioned song like one of those.

Anyone?

The only song I can think of that comes close is an old Rolling Stones song, Susie Q.

The lyrics for it are here. (http://www.oldielyrics.com/lyrics/the_rolling_stones/susie_q.html)

I don't think that's it... it was more of an old fashioned children's song or folk song than a pop/rock song. Thanks though!

I thought it was that too. The Stones ROX! I wouldn't put it past them to sexualize an innocent child's tune, though. :D

Or before, if it had been Brian. *is obsessed with Stones*

Did the Stones do Susie Q? The only version I have around here is CCR. *goes off to investigate*

I think it was a B side. I've heard the CCR one too, though. :)

You're right! Well, I'm not sure if it was released as a B-side, but it was the last track on the 12 x 5 LP, which came out in '64. Wow, I'm a nerd. :)

No - this song is definitely not a band song.
