I have had dreams that come true, but because they were of things that were exceptionally likely to happen anyway, I don't think that's what you're talking about. Dreaming about running out of toothpaste or missing the train is hardly a psychic power ;-)

Some of my cinematic vampire-hunting dreams have stayed with me for a long time. (Not the SMeyer variety ;-))

Hee. Well, I don't necessarily mean the drastic variety, but definitely more coincidental than that. Although it's also quality, not quantity - were you wearing the same outfit in your dream when you missed the train or anything like that?

Well, yes, but I don't own that many clothes, so, again, not that unlikely ;-)

I wrote a short story based on a dream once. I have it somewhere if you're interested. It was about World War Two, and an adopted kid.

Kind of strange to come upon this right now when I just woke up from a really, really horrifying set of nightmares. I do like that in a lot of my dreams I'm fully aware that I'm dreaming so I can wake up or change things. I remember I used to have this one recurring dream when I was a kid where for some reason I'd be in this abandoned city and parts of it were filled with swamps. I'd always walk waist deep into the swamp and the dream would stop around there then finally in my teens I was like, "Wait, I've dreamt this before..."

I've had dejavu a lot. But I think that has more to do with, my life is boring and just similar things happen a lot. Usually it has to do with something going on in a classroom. But I just get this really strong feeling of '... this has happened before. Exactly. in a dream.'

I've used dreams to create stories before, although I have to edit them up. Mostly by taking out all the random sex scenes.

When I'm falling asleep, I usually focus on some story in my head I'm creating although I've never really managed to dream about the same story and get any decent progress in it. I always end up dreaming about something else lol.

I used to base stories on dreams. I don't anymore. One was a story that started with a red-haired girl in a yellow sailor suit whose mom was killed in a fire. That one went nowhere. The other dream I used for inspiration led directly to Voldemort the Giant Evil Floating Red Eyeball of Hogwarts, in Harry Potter and the Final Battle. I don't like to talk about it.

Usually I can't control dreams, but every now and then I exert just a little control. And not only are things that are mildly unnerving in real life transformed into things that terrify me to my bones in dreams, but I once had a man in a dream point a gun at me and I calmly asked him why. He had a strong resemblance to Sirius Black, which may have helped.

I have woken from a dead sleep before and had to grab my pen and paper and write down song lyrics I'd heard. I can't get back to sleep until it's written down, matter of fact a song I wrote was called "behind the curtain" was written that way.

Yeah, I've gotten recent story ideas based on dreams I've had (the bodyjumper story is the most recent one).

It seems like my brain is a better storyteller than I am; by this I mean that my brain comes up with these awesome stories and then I fail at cranking them out while I'm awake.
