Was re-reading PoA, one of the Quidditch scenes (the last tournament). I noticed something.

When Alicia is nearly knocked off her broom:

Jordan: Don't do that!

Hooch: That was wrong! Penalty!

McG: *Doesn't say anything*

When the twins throw bludgers at the Slytherin players:

Jordan: Woohoo!

Hooch: That was wrong! Penalty!

McG: *Silent*

Draco pulls on Harry's broom:

Jordan: DIE, DRACO MALFOY! YOU OUGHT TO DIE!

Hooch: *In shock*

McG: YOU HORRIBLE HUMAN BEING, I CAN'T BELIEVE I GAVE YOU 100% ON THAT ESSAY!

Favortism, anyone? ^^

Hm, I never read it as favortism but ultra Gryffindor in that moment. Harry gets the Snitch, the game is over, the Gryff's win the cup. I always figured THAT was what so miffed McGonagall, the "cheap" way that Malfoy kept them from winning the cup (for a few moments at least)

Yes, but I meant in general - and I mean, what about Alicia? Getting knocked off would have injured her much more severely.

Possible, but even that is unsure. We really aren't sure how badly falls injure wizards... the evidence is unclear. On the one hand, they thought they lost Harry in the "rain" game, but on the other hand Neville bounced after a fall.

Maybe it was just the point in the game. I know when I go to sports matches, I can start off doing no more than scowling when the ref gives a penalty to the other team, but by the end, winning or losing, I'll be screaming blue murder. Perhaps the cumulative effects of the entire game are what had McGonagall so worked up.

Haha, perhaps it is favoritism, but Draco is such a little snotball that I don't care if there is :P Especially since Draco is Snape's favorite, Harry would naturally be McGonagall's...er, or that's my way of explaining away anything that may tarnish my, ah,...favorite...:P

Thanks! Delleve made it.

Oh, and I know about Draco, but she didn't get worked up about Alicia, either.
