We all know certain internet personalities. We all have at least a bit of one of these personalities in us. (I saw a bit of myself in a few of these...)

This list uses characters from various fandoms as a way to describe these personalities. You do not have to know these characters to get this.

This list also contains a major Wicked spoiler - for the musical, that is. (If you don't want to be spoiled, I'd glance past "Elphaba Thropp.")

It contains minor spoilers for other fandoms.

Moaning Myrtle

("I AM LEAVING AND NEVER COMING BACK")

Moaning Myrtle left town a long time ago... or so you thought. Despite having supposedly left after someone was "mean" to her, Myrtle frequently makes surprise visits, in which she whines about how everyone treated her. Then, of course, she announces that she's not coming back... for a few minutes.

Elphaba Thropp

("I'm singing posting for Elphaba with shaking hands and salty tears...")

Elphaba wangsts about how nobody will ever love her because she's green. She then fakes her own death in a final cry of defeat, to teach Oz fandom an important lesson.

River Tam

("None of my posts make sense because they can't be quantified.")

Oh, River. She replies to posts making absolutely no sense, and likes to throw random fits now and then. But everyone sort of feels sorry for her, so she's never banned. Besides, we all know somewhere in her posts, there's actually a lot of logic...

Captain Hammer Fangirls

("This is his hair!")

They are absolutely in love with a celebrity/character, to the point where it's a little creepy. They may also hate any woman who touches him. Oh dear.

Remus Lupin

("Woe.")

Remus is a nice guy, but when things get rough, he likes to bring his problems into it. He's also been known to disappear at random, causing everyone to think he's thrown himself off a bridge.

Kaylee Frye

("Did you just say something bad about my ship?")

Normally, Kaylee's nice and bubbly. However, nobody insults her ship and gets away with it - even the man of her dreams.

Hermione Granger

("Have you never read Hogwarts, a History?")

Hermione's the one who thinks she's right - usually because she is, but does she have to be so annoying about it?

Penny

("I can haz siggy?")

You know all those online petitions? Penny's made most of them.

Jayne Cobb

("Me? Offensive?")

Inappropriate jokes? Check. Rude, tactless comments? Check.

But he's got everyone's back in the end. For the most part.

Feel free to add to the list in the comments. You can even recycle my characters.

Shepherd Book
An older member of the fandom, and here for his own reasons. Enjoys the company of everyone, and sometimes learns from them. But every now and then, is forced go for a long walk, shaking his head and accepting that young people do need to make their own mistakes.

ROFLMAO!!!

Here's a couple more:

'Professor' Moody, aka Barty Crouch Jr.. The sockpuppet who pretends to be on one side of the issue, but is actually a spy and plant for the other side.

Terry Boot/Susan Bones/Justin Finch-Fetchley/etc.. Those people on your flist that make you scratch your head and wonder "Who are these people? I never see them do anything." They're just names, nothing more.

Harry Potter/Malcolm Reynolds. The reluctant do-gooder who goes around picking fights online with others because he or she sees someone being oppressed somehow.

Ron Weasley/Zoe Alleyne. The ever-present BFF who's always got your back...and always comes back even if you quarrel.

Hee! Yes.

The reluctant do-gooder who goes around picking fights online with others because he or she sees someone being oppressed somehow.

You know, that's pretty much my fandom life in a nutshell. :P

Meh, you're not the only one. Apart from faking death and rude jokes, I think there's a bit of all of those in me. I even did the "I'm leaving forever!!" thing at various forums, when I was in high school and thought it would work. (And I think we've all temporarily left something we didn't like, only to return - but Moaning Myrtles do it loudly. ;))
