caboca and I were having an interesting conversation about meeting people online. And I realized that I'd love stories about one of the following:

A. Meeting people.

B. Your impression of  them - did it change after you met them?

C. Whether or not meeting them was good or bad.

D. Would you do it again?

For obvious reasons, all comments will be screened. If you want yours to be unscreened, just let me know. Anonymous comments will also be accepted. Let me know too if you'd like me to post your story in another post, which I may do. May do, if I can work out how. Because it'd be fun to read.

And I do realize the answers may vary, especially if you've met loads of people.  I'm just curious as to what people's experiences were.

Well, hermionesviolin is one of my best friends and I met her first online, later in meatspace.

This is my impression of the first time we met; we've met lots of times since then and it's gotten easier each time.

I've had some awkward -- not bad -- experiences meeting people, when we don't click as well as we do online, but I've not lost any friendships over it and am totally eager to meet the rest of my friendslist in person.
