Old Fics

So I was reading Arabella and Zsenya's fanfic,After the End. And I realized something.

There is something special about old fanfics. It's interesting to see what could have happened, and also what people's ideas were of canon bak then. 

So I've decided that I want to collect old fanfics, dating from, if possible, way back to before Chamber of Secrets was published. I will be putting them linking them in an Archive, probably on Livejournal or Yahoo. I will probably use Yahoo as a source for fanfics that are no longer online.

So, if you're interesting in helping maintain such an Archive, let me know - and only if you really are interesed, forsee few long-term time constraints*, and are willing to do a fair amount of research. I do understand that December is a busy month, so I really don't expect the "Archive" to be complete right away, but... think of it as a break in between studying for exams/shopping like mad/etc.

Also, if you aren't interested in helping maintain such a comm, but you still have links, please let me know! I want to post this Archive on July 8th, 2007 - seven years after book four was released. After all, seven is a special number. ;)

* Long term time constraints does not mean having finals in December/January or presents to buy. Those are completely normal, and I'll have such RL matters too - including finals. I simply mean, you need to be willng to work with that. 

<b>ETA:</b> I would actually prefer to be linked to pre-GoF fics, mainly because fandom was pretty big after GoF, and I probably don't need links outside of anyone helping maintain the comm. There's just so many post-GoF fics that it'll be hard enough to choose which ones to link. Pre-GoF, however, is more than welcome!

Believe it or not, I was just thinking last night that I was going to go troll ff.n (or wherever else I could find) for some of the older fics out there. I didn't join the fandom until after OotP, so there's probably a lot of stuff that I missed.

I'd definitely be interested in helping in some way, even if it's just by finding things.

Are you going to be limiting this to certain ships. or will you include everything?

I'll probably include almost everything, but bits of stuff. I don't want to do only R/Hr or only R/S, you know?

I'm not positive, but I've heard they don't exist. The start from pre-PoA.

This is a really neat idea. I joined the fandom post OotP, so I've only read a few older fics, but some of them were really good, with some really interesting ideas.
