Edited Note: SPOILERS. Huge spoilers. Read at your own risk. I forgot to cut, so... yeah. Scroll like a bat out of Azkaban. Really. And yes, book seven, NOT book six. Now, if you don't want spoilers, scroll!
So here it states that JKR is going to kill two people.
I have the worst feeling that it's Remus and Tonks. I don't know why, I just... do.
I hope not though. I really hope not. And not just because of my ficverse; I really like their characters in the canon.
Or... OMG... Fred and George?!
No, she wouldn't. At least I hope not... as much as they utterly annoy me, they have provided some good comic relief.
I do have a feeling it'll be two people who are connected, though. Because the way she said "two people are going to die" seems to imply that.
It's just a book, it's just a book...
Why am I freaking out like this?!

Date: 2006-06-26 09:55 pm (UTC)She wouldn't kill off Remus and Tonx, though. I think it's because she's gone wayway into their (remus') stories. I don't know, though.

Date: 2006-06-26 09:59 pm (UTC)I wondered about Bill, because of the injuries he had last book... But I'm still wondering as to how she defines 'reprieve' - I mean, a reprieve in her mind, because she was going to kill them off and didn't? Or a reprieve as in they've almost died in the books, but were lucky enough to be saved?
I don't know.

Date: 2006-06-26 10:05 pm (UTC)One of the deaths will be either Voldemort or Harry; my $$ is on Voldemort. And note that she didn't say *only* two deaths; she confirmed two for certain.
More intriguing to me is the answer to who received the reprieve -- and why!

Date: 2006-06-27 02:37 pm (UTC)And obviously, Voldemort's death would have been planned all along. Wouldn't it?

Date: 2006-06-27 03:48 am (UTC)However, Jo was (pleasantly) surprised that we all LOVED R/T, so maybe one of them got the reprieve :)
Fred and George...*sniffle* They make me laugh. We know Voldie's getting the whack!
Er...no one's said it, but Jo said two 'surprising' people. Dare I say...Ron and Hermione. (Please don't flame)

Date: 2006-06-27 10:44 am (UTC)Remus and Tonks... yeah... that'd be horrible, especially if it were just Tonks.

Date: 2006-06-27 10:56 am (UTC)Same with the Twins. They're so close, it'd feel like an amputation almost if one of them died and the other one had to go on.
Maybe Hagrid and Mdm Maxime will die? ;) Why are we so sure the two characters will have a connection anyway?? Just the way she said it I suppose...
As for the reprieve: I have this sneaking suspicion it's either Snape or Peter. :p And for some reason I'd love for it to be Snape!

Date: 2006-06-28 11:37 pm (UTC)"No more is it up to you," said Magorian smoothly.
[The centaurs decide to leave Hagrid alone because Harry and Hermione are with him.]
"I won' be kept outta the fires' by a bunch of mules like you!" said Hagrid loudly.
"Hagrid," said Hermione in a high-pitched and terrified voice, as both Bane and the grey centaur pawed at the ground, "let's go, please let's go!"
Hagrid moved forward, but his crossbow was still raised and his eyes were still fixed threateningly upon Magorian.
[Magorian leaves, giving a parting warning.]
Hagrid turned and gave every appearance of wanting to walk straight back to Magorian again.
...Harry and Hermione both pushed with all their might against Hagrid's moleskin waistcoat in an effort to keep him moving forward.
My point is, if this is Hagrid's reaction to being kept out of the forest, there's no way he's surviving to the final chapter.
