Edited Note: SPOILERS. Huge spoilers. Read at your own risk. I forgot to cut, so... yeah. Scroll like a bat out of Azkaban. Really. And yes, book seven, NOT book six.  Now, if you don't want spoilers, scroll!

So here it states that JKR is going to kill two people.

I have the worst feeling that it's Remus and Tonks. I don't know why, I just... do.

I hope not though. I really hope not. And not just because of my ficverse; I really like their characters in the canon.

Or... OMG... Fred and George?!

No, she wouldn't. At least I hope not... as much as they utterly annoy me, they have provided some good comic relief.

I do have a feeling it'll be two people who are connected, though. Because the way she said "two people are going to die" seems to imply that.

It's just a book, it's just a book...

Why am I freaking out like this?!

F&G annoy you? Por Que?

She wouldn't kill off Remus and Tonx, though. I think it's because she's gone wayway into their (remus') stories. I don't know, though.

Yeah, I think Fred and George tend to cross the line between "funny" and "obnoxious" way too often.

Haha, I'm flailing too :P I just posted a poll about it over at my journal. *flails* I'm mostly worried about Harry. I don't *think* that she would kill her baby off, but J.K is surprising sometimes >.<

I wondered about Bill, because of the injuries he had last book... But I'm still wondering as to how she defines 'reprieve' - I mean, a reprieve in her mind, because she was going to kill them off and didn't? Or a reprieve as in they've almost died in the books, but were lucky enough to be saved?

I don't know.

Hm, I think I misread that the first time - she seems to be meaning that she was going to kill someone, but didn't, and the other two were unexpected.

Which only adds to the mystery, really.

I'd rather she killed Remus AND Tonks than one or the other. However, I am firmly routed in the opinion that she will kill neither. Please don't try and make me change my mind:)

*sniffles at the thought*

*Hugs* Sorry! I don't want either to die, believe me.

I somehow doubt she'd kill both Fred & George or Remus & Tonks (as in both members of either of those pairs). One or the other, maybe. Not both.

One of the deaths will be either Voldemort or Harry; my $$ is on Voldemort. And note that she didn't say *only* two deaths; she confirmed two for certain.

More intriguing to me is the answer to who received the reprieve -- and why!

Yeah, it's all just sterange.

I just tihnk it's a pair somehow.

Maybe Harry Potter and Voldemort?

I think you're right that the characters are connected, but I really think it's the Marauder's era that is going down and I think Remus is the one that got the reprieve. I always thought she was going to kill off all of that generation - Snape, Peter, and Remus at the very end - but I think because she gave Remus Tonks she didn't have the heart to kill him off - or she found something to make him want to live. Idealistic, I know, but then I'm a fluff writer.

We won't mention the sextet - Although I'm worried about Luna since we don't know her birthday. *frets*

I get the feeling Voldemort will be one of the two killed. Call it amazing intuition...

damn, you mean my idea (see above) isn't original and inventive?

she said of the two that "we're dealing with pure evil"... Voldemort is the pure evil, not dealing with pure evil LOL. I know, you weren't entirely serious, but the two she wasn't expecting to die were on Harry's side, by interpretation.

And obviously, Voldemort's death would have been planned all along. Wouldn't it?

I have my own theory about Fred and George (see my lj), but even if it doesn't happen, I don't think they'll die.

I'm with everyone else...if she kills off one of Remus and Tonks, she has to kill them both off.

However, Jo was (pleasantly) surprised that we all LOVED R/T, so maybe one of them got the reprieve :)

Fred and George...*sniffle* They make me laugh. We know Voldie's getting the whack!

Er...no one's said it, but Jo said two 'surprising' people. Dare I say...Ron and Hermione. (Please don't flame)

I know it will be a Weasley...I mean, can such a large family really go through the War unscathed? It might seriously be Harry...but, somehow I doubt she would do that. She's already taken Sirius and Dumbledore... I don't think Remus and Tonks are important enough to be whacked by Jo!

I won't flame you, I will just say I really think Ron and Hermione are safe.

Remus and Tonks... yeah... that'd be horrible, especially if it were just Tonks.

If it's just Tonks I'm going to go to Edinburgh and shout at Jo for making Remus' life more sadder than it already is! The pair should die together or not at all.
Same with the Twins. They're so close, it'd feel like an amputation almost if one of them died and the other one had to go on.

Maybe Hagrid and Mdm Maxime will die? ;) Why are we so sure the two characters will have a connection anyway?? Just the way she said it I suppose...

As for the reprieve: I have this sneaking suspicion it's either Snape or Peter. :p And for some reason I'd love for it to be Snape!

"Now you listen ter me," said Hagrid angrily. "I'll have less of the 'our' forest, if it's all the same ter you. It's not up ter you who comes and goes in here - "

"No more is it up to you," said Magorian smoothly.

[The centaurs decide to leave Hagrid alone because Harry and Hermione are with him.]

"I won' be kept outta the fires' by a bunch of mules like you!" said Hagrid loudly.

"Hagrid," said Hermione in a high-pitched and terrified voice, as both Bane and the grey centaur pawed at the ground, "let's go, please let's go!"

Hagrid moved forward, but his crossbow was still raised and his eyes were still fixed threateningly upon Magorian.

[Magorian leaves, giving a parting warning.]

Hagrid turned and gave every appearance of wanting to walk straight back to Magorian again.

...Harry and Hermione both pushed with all their might against Hagrid's moleskin waistcoat in an effort to keep him moving forward.

My point is, if this is Hagrid's reaction to being kept out of the forest, there's no way he's surviving to the final chapter.

Well, in fairness, he probably doesn't take them seriously because they never hurt him before. I doubt he'd be as foolish with the Death Eaters - he really is strone.

I've had the scary Fred and George thought as well. I'm conviced that at least one Wealsey will die just based on probablility. I hadn't thought about Remus and Tonks. I dunno, but I'm not thinking that. I'm worried about Molly or Arthur.

Not two deaths - two more deaths. In the last chapter. Which she calls a "slight alteration."

People who were complaining about the lack of war in HBP, rejoice. The rest of you, feel free to lose sleep.

People were complaining about the lack of war in HBP? Did they miss the murder references in every other chapter?
