So all those times I was writing LJ and thne pressed back, when I go to do my next entry, and don't care about the old one, it asks me if I want to open the saved entry.

The one time I DID want to write the original? It doesn't.

Actually it SHOULD still save your entry. That happened to me once. But when I come back to LJ update page a few moments later, they asked me whether I want to start from my previous draft. They autosave it, so that should always be there. :)
