- It's strange, but my friend was right in a pre-OoTP fanfic about a Black being a Squib. Granted, she had her be Sirius's sister and female, but still.

- James and Sirius were not cousins, in my opinion. Otherwise, Sirius would've mentioned that. Distant kin is more likely.

- Either Andromeda was exactly one year younger than Bellatrix, or she was one young mother. (That, or Remus is dating a twenty year old, which makes me, well, like the ship less than when I thought Tonks must be about twenty four in HBP).


- Tonks's pink hair was not disrespectful to Dumbledore. And while some people had good points, I think in other cases, she's never going to win unless she says Remus and Sirius were the ones in love, and/or she's magically removing her "Mary Sue powers."

- JKR really sucks at math. But that's okay, because so do I.

- I really want more on Regulus. Is it bad that before I realized he might have been more important than we realize, I thought he was sort of a reverse Peter Pettigrew, who only really turned out of fear?
Draco seems to be who we thought Regulus was, and Regulus... I'm not sure, but he's definitely not the stupid idiot Sirius made him out to be if he was the Horcrux Destroyer. (New nickname!)

- As for how Regulus found out, I think it's simple: he probably did a lot of research, and had access to the research, being from an old, Dark Wizarding family. Nobody else dared to question him.

Well, if we've got a birthdate of 1951 for Bellatrix, Andromeda's actually older than I thought she was -- I was figuring she must have had Tonks at seventeen, but it looks like she might have been as old as twenty-one.

Tonks can't get any younger than 23 at the beginning of HBP, regardless -- the canonical facts about Auror training make it impossible.

Yes, exactly. Plus, I dunno, I'm more comfortable with the idea of Remus dating someone twelve years younger than fifteen years younger, and someone whose mother wasn't at Hogwarts with him.

I'm also with you on the comments on Regulus. I don't really think we can take what Sirius says about his brother as full truth. Family is just like that because they have known each other for their whole life. People change, but the memory holds rigid.

Heck, Voldemort may have told Regulus. I don't really think so, but maybe.

I doubt it... from the sounds of it, he really didn't trust his own followers. And Horcruxes... you don't tell someone why you are immortal. They'll undoubtedly use it against you - Regulus did.

I don't think I'll trust JKR when it comes to the timeline. This will cause problems if I ever want to write something about the Black sisters.

I've never heard of Tonks' hair being disrespectful, but then again, I don't really pay attention to the character. It still doesn't make sense.

There was a discussion about it, linked to from daily_snitch. Mostly the disrespect was only seen by people who a) don't like Tonks, b) don't like Remus/Tonks (because she "bullied" him into a relationship) or c) both.

Wanted to add - my R/S friends all find this as annoying as I do. Actually, I think they find it even more annoying - as in, "you're embarassing us!"

Ah, I see. I really dislike ship related character bashing. IMO, if you're going to hate a character, do it on their terms. Either because you find, for example, Tonks' metamorphmagus' abilities a gimmicky put on.

And for some reason, I keep thinking that Sirius was helping him, and really didn't think he was as stupid as he said to Harry.
