Two words: Colin Farrell.

The midnight showing is still pending, but I'll definitely be going at the earliest opportunity, obviously.

Originally I was indifferent to the idea of a Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them film franchise, because I don't really care about Newt. However, the more information we got from what the first one would entail the more intrigued I became, because I find the political aspects a bit more interesting than the actual beasts inside of Newt's suitcase. And then, of course, my interest skyrocketed mostly because of Colin Farrell's character, Percival Graves, which has become my main reason of watching this film. I am utterly fascinated with him already, which is the quickest I've ever gotten invested with a character entirely based off of the trailers alone. So he has become the main motivation of my excitement for this film.

SAME!

I'm already emotionally invested with Percival Graves and the movie hasn't even come out yet. And in general, this has caused me to have a serious Colin Farrell situation and it doesn't seem to be stopping anytime soon.

I will definitely watch it at some point, but I very rarely go out to the movies because my wife is hearing impaired and it can be hard to find showings with captions. I've gotten used to waiting for DVD releases and staying comfy at home. We'll see, though!

There is a small chance that I'll go to the midnight showing, but a very much bigger chance that I won't and just see it day of release or the immediate following day.

I might go see it, but not a midnight showing.

I'm not interested in Fantastic Beasts at all, I'll probably just see it when it's on TV in about 5 years.

I have never read or seen Harry Potter. Well, I have seen odd scenes of the films when it's been on tv, but have never 'watched' them as such.

I'll probably see it at a cut-price matinee the weekend it comes out.

I'm looking forward to seeing it but it'll have to be after it's on Amazon video. :o(

I'm beyond excited to see it because THIS is the kind of HP stuff I was hoping post-Deathly Hallows.

specially because it's All Brand New. New characters, new spells, new creatures, location, etc

(still iffy on the way JKR researched and presented American stuff but I'm willing to give her the benefit of the doubt here...)

I love HP, but somehow cannot be bothered when it comes to Fantastic Beats.

I'll probably see it opening day, but no one local was interested in a midnight show and doing that solo doesn't sound like fun.

I might get the movies for the kids when they come out on DVD/Blu-ray.

It's the type of movie I'm usually going to see with my grown-up son; this time, I'll be going with him and his girlfriend. :-) I just hope they don't do what hubby and I did at the movies, namely snog half the time ...

I wanna go see it, I just have no idea when. :| I don't think I can do the midnight showing for this one. I'd rather just go to the Rogue One midnight showing, especially since that one is AFTER school is over. Fantastic Beasts is in November and I have no idea what'll be going on that week school-wise.

Do tell me what you know about the character I'm just excited it's Colin but some background would be awesome.

He plays Percival Graves, an Auror and the Director of Magical Security and is also the right-hand man of the President of MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America). He is described to be a powerful wizard, and in the film he is tasked with tracking down Newt when his magical creatures start creating a security threat. And based on the trailers there may be something else he's involved with as well, whether investigating on the side or otherwise, which may be connected to a bigger plot of the films later on (a.k.a. Dumbledore vs. Grindelwald).

That is the only brief description of his character that we've gotten, plus some basic details Colin has given during interviews. I figure they don't want to spoil too much.
