Glomping means jumping onto someone and then hugging them, preferably with all four limbs. :)
The significance of this is not lost on Harry. He realizes that for the first time, Dumbledore can't save the day. He'd always taken for granted that Dumbledore could help them, but he can't.
Yeah, people are always going about how GoF is the game changer in terms of Harry and Dumbledore's relationship and I always say "NO, it starts a book earlier!" It starts here, in PoA, when Harry realises that Dumbledore cannot fix the fact Sirius is an escaped prisoner who was sentenced to life for murder. Of course, whether Dumbledore WOULD have let Harry live with Sirius given the whole blood magic thing is an interesting question, but it's moot...
Here's a question - was it really future Dumbledore, and not Dumbledore of three hours ago? But then what was past!Dumbledore doing? Either this is future Dumbledore, or past!Dumbledore had a feeling something like this would happen for whatever reason.
The law is that you cannot be SEEN. There's nothing about being HEARD or sending a letter. What if future!Dumbledore sent a letter by Fawkes with instructions that said "Hello, past Albus, this is Albus from three hours in the future. Yes, I know this is weird, but we are going to be able to save two innocent lives tonight." Past!Albus would think "Saving innocent lives? That's what I'm all about, Future!Me, let's do it!" and follow the instructions carefully.
Out of nowhere, Fudge says: "Calm down, man!" This seems rather... unlike Fudge.
No, it's in the original, but over here, it has a military tone. Can come off as old-fashioned or even pompous.
Never mind Lupin or Luna, it's Snape who goes really loopy here. He's practically foaming at the mouth! I am even more amazed after this that Dumbledore expected Snape and Sirius to work together in OotP, I mean, really?!
