AbN, from what I suspect, brought this post on. The very reason that it was posted in netspeak was probally the reason nobody responded. Besides it wasn't at all in the real thread, and being posted in blue I'm sure didn't help "nufing". :)

I hate when people do that. I wrote a really long text message to a friend and had to use "u" instead of "you" and I was cringing the whole time!

It's rather sad that I am, out of all my friends, probably the last hold-out who still writes in almost complete sentences and spells during IM chats.

Yikes. I mean, I have friends who throw in the occcasional U - and I don't mind that. I don't even mind the occasional *wibbles* or *glomps* or how r u. What I mind is when the entire conversation is in internet language.
