Beedle the Bard

So I really liked it.

The stories themselves weren't as childish as I'd expected, though I still mostly liked Dumbledore's insight.

I also found some things interesting, such as "Lisette de Lapin." Lapin, huh? Ancestor of one Remus Lupin? ;) Or am I just too obsessed?

In general, I really liked it. Though I will say that it was mostly for the die-hards... I mean, I really enjoyed the insight we got into wizarding culture and history and stuff, but not everyone will really care. There's definitely very little from characters we know, although Lucius has a brief cameo, as do some others.

I'm glad I got it; I just don't have much to say, as it was just... a fun, insightful book.

One more thing - the tales were definitely more like Grimm fairy tales than Disney fairy tales. There's actually some funny commentary on that.

I imagine I'll get it at some point, but it's just amusing to me because two years ago I would have been at the bookstore first thing, jumping up and down to get my copy. :P I saw it on the TV on my way to class and was like "Huh. Forgot that came out today." *shrug*

With me, I was always a bit less interested in the add-on books anyway, but yeah... in general I've noticed a lot of my HP fan friends are less interested. I still am, but I'm sure if I had something else to be obsessed with, I wouldn't be.
