Beedle the Bard
So I really liked it.
The stories themselves weren't as childish as I'd expected, though I still mostly liked Dumbledore's insight.
I also found some things interesting, such as "Lisette de Lapin." Lapin, huh? Ancestor of one Remus Lupin? ;) Or am I just too obsessed?
In general, I really liked it. Though I will say that it was mostly for the die-hards... I mean, I really enjoyed the insight we got into wizarding culture and history and stuff, but not everyone will really care. There's definitely very little from characters we know, although Lucius has a brief cameo, as do some others.
I'm glad I got it; I just don't have much to say, as it was just... a fun, insightful book.
One more thing - the tales were definitely more like Grimm fairy tales than Disney fairy tales. There's actually some funny commentary on that.

I haven't bought it yet and it isn't on my Christmas list. Funny how things change.

And it's actually its own commentary, so that's kinda cool.

Did you also think of Lupin when the book on dealing with lycanthropy was brought up? I totally, "Aww"ed at the moment, feeling sympathy for him.

And once again we get proof that the WizWorld is backwards or that out Jo sucks at History: the Tales are supposed to be written in runes in the fifteenth century? I'm certain Muggle Brits had left those behind by then.
