Oh, I'm a firm believer in re-reads and re-watches.

Here's how I see it. The first time you visit a certain location, you look for the big picture stuff, the main attractions. You don't know enough about that area to get far beyond the very basics, and anyhow, that's not what you're looking for. It's only when you go back that you discover the beautiful park, the museum that actually teaches you things you never knew, the store where you buy something that makes you feel different, the elderly couple you meet with a most interesting story.

That's how movies and books are. When you see or watch the first time, the little  things aren't going to seem as important. It's only later that you might go back and realize you missed some interesting details.

There's often a limit, though. When the first Pirates of the Carribean movie came out, that's all anyone wanted to see; I loved it the first ten times, but then I got sick of it. Of course, now I really want to re-watch, but I have no idea where the DVD is. :(
