Writer's Block: Be Prepared
Dec. 3rd, 2008 08:07 am[Error: unknown template qotd] I will leave my kids alone as I, being the town mayor, am the one to reassure my town that if we stay safe, we'll be okay. Just go home to your families and pack the heck up. Which I obviously don't do. Then the disaster happens, and I realize oh no, Mary and Johnny are alone! I'm such a horrible mother! So Hot Scientist and I go on a hunt to find them, and in the midst of it all, stop for gas... and then the gas station collapses.
We weigh our options:
1. Try and get out of the rubble so we can find the kids.
2. Make out like there's no tomorrow. (Which there may not be!)
We go for option #2, and it's all very sweet and romantic.
After making out, we are rescued by an old man we know, who then drops dead from the effort of prying us away fromone another the rubble. We shed a few tears, then continue our pursuit. Hot Scientist tells me the reason I my life over twisters is because my daddy was blown away to Oz when I was a little girl.
In the end, we find the kids, who are eating cherrios several miles away and promptly ask, "where were you?" I then tell them that Hot Scientist I've been dating for forty five seconds is their new daddy, and they cheer.
Despite the fact that the town I work, live, and sleep in is destroyed and my children are scarred for life, we all live happily ever after.
(Oh wait... my life isn't a natural disaster movie...)
