Title: Eternal Name
Characters: Andromeda-Black Tonks
Rating: G
Challenge: What's In A Name
House: Ravenclaw
Word Count: 100

When Andromeda married Ted, she kept her maiden name as her middle name.

People asked her why. After all, they said, your family is evil. Even Andromeda's own daughter refused to keep her long black hair, in favor of brown or red (and, later, pink). Dora did go by "Dora" as a child, but soon only let her parents and close friends call her that.

"After all," Dora would say, "I'm partly named after Dorea."

"There was Dorea Potter, she was James Potter's second cousin," Andromeda had always pointed out. "And Dorea Nott-"

"The first Dorea was known for her affiliation with troll-killing groups."

Andromeda gave up on correcting her daughter. She was, after all, a Tonks, and Andromeda loved her dearly for it.

However, as much as her family had shamed her, she could not forget her name. She even hoped someday, the Black family name would be redeemed.
