Hm... good point. I don't think it's something everyone absolutely has to do, I just highly suggest it, for the reasons I supplied.
It is a good point about your story therefore being your own, and I certainly don't believe people should necessarily change an entire plot because the beta said they had to. But I just think it's advisable, for the reasons I listed.
But hey, if you don't use them, that's perfectly fine. And I certainly didn't mean to say everyone should use one, more that I feel it's a very good idea. But it's just an opinion. ;)
