That's just disgusting behavior! I know when I talk to the nurses near a patient I refer to them by their room number so I'd say "Dr blahblah is on the phone about 823." I don't do it because I can't be bothered, I do it so nobody else hears what the patient name is, and so keep it confidential. Private hospital, big names pass through at times.
