Have you tried threading via re-blogging? It's not perfect, but you can get threads going that way.
Regarding MiSTing, way back when I was participating in the Gargoyles fandom, it was something we did. The first fanfic I ever shared online was MiSTed. I found it hilarious and educational (I became more serious about writing because of it)
