No, book 7 isn't finished. For that to be the case, JKR would have had to have finished writing it now, and that's pretty hard going. I'd be surprised if Book 7 were to be published summer 2007, let alone this summer.

It would be tres cool if she were going to be reading an excerpt from what she's got so far of book 7, but somehow I doubt it. It's much more likely to be a bit of HBP.

It's a weird mixture of really wanting to know what's going to happen and not wanting something to end, isn't it?

Isn't the Times an unreliable source? Or am I confusing it with another UK paper?

Either way, even if she does read from book seven, that doesn't mean it'll be out this summer. She's started writing, so she's obviously got something that she can read to her fans, but that's doesn't mean she's anywhere close to finishing.

Btw, it could just be a mistake. The Today Show said, a couple weeks before HBP came out that, Jim Dale would be reading from the new Harry Potter book, but when the show aired he read from OotP.

They posted an update. It was a misprint or typo of some sort. The reading will NOT be from book 7.
