I haven't gotten to that episode of "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" yet, but the impression I get is that it goes HARD towards both the hyperbolic and the painfully real, which is a difficult - and impressive! - line to walk. Everything about Rebecca's personality makes it clear that she's dealing with some sort of undiagnosed mental illness, but she's just as clearly still trying to make it work, and experiences a lot of pitfalls and setbacks as a result of her inability to confront the actual issues, partly because she doesn't fully understand what they are.
It's really excellently well-done, Special Episode stuff aside, but I can only watch it in small doses.
