I wouldn't say I hate it, but while I have an account, I don't really use it much. I do think that twitter - and Facebook, honestly - are good for some reasons, but I feel like people become really, really reliant on those two things. The mass panic when twitter went down for five hours a few months back says a lot - what, those people couldn't just pick up a phone, drive somewhere, or heck, even send an actual email? It's not like all technology stopped working and aliens abducted 87% of the human life on this planet. One thing didn't work for a few hours. It sucked. I'd understand if twitter was down for a week, a day even, but really? Five hours?

Still, I do think it has its bonuses. I just wish it weren't relied on.

OK, I guess "hate" is too strong a word. ;) I agree with everything you said and would like to add that I've looked at people's twitter pages and the reason I haven't joined the cult is because it seems to be full of: "It's cold today", "Mmm, coffee", "My dog is sleeping" messages and constantly receiving notifications that inane would drive me mad. So I guess I'm a cranky Luddite. :)
