Writer's Block: The Undead

[Error: unknown template qotd]The great thing with supernatural creatures is that they can be as sympathetic or evil as you want them to be.

I always got the impression zombies were more like puppets, but I'm sure someone's written a book or a movie or a TV show that makes them look sympathetic. So I guess they can be suffering.

Well, there's Remus Lupin the reluctant werewolf, Edward Cullen the reluctant (and sparkly!) vampire... so I'd say Cedric Diggory the reluctant zombie would be a go! :P

Check out Generation Dead by Daniel Waters. Sympathetic undead teenagers in high school.

I wrote a song called "Bizarre Zombie Love Song" about zombies and the difficulties they have with romantic relationships. That makes it sound more serious than it is. Let's see if I remember some of it...

"I can't feel your loving touch,
And I want to oh so much,
But I'm sure my nerves were eaten by bull flies.
We make do with words and looks,
Or a song since that stuff works,
And I sing as I look in your sunken eyes...

(Refrain)

I've got a brain here, it tells me that I need you,
Got a heart, too, it don't beat very fast,
But somehow it's got to be,
Without you I R.I.P.,
Oh Jane Doe, I know our love is going to last!"

There's more, but I'd have to hunt it down.
