Fred/Angelina Shippers, listen up...

It's half canon.

(JKR Documentary spoilers!)

I just love that George/Angelina is apparently canon, because I've contemplated that ship idea but thought it might be too cliche. I just got this vision of Angelina coming into the joke shop one day and talking to him about how he'd made what ended up being the last happy Christmas for a good couple of years very meaningful... even if they hadn't fallen in love.

Oh, and apparently, Charlie had no kids or wife. Poor guy.

... those of us who have been holding out for a gay Charlie, please raise your right hands now.

Oddly enough, there's a part of me that does think he could be gay. I don't really know why.

George/Angelina...cool =)

Bah, that's what fanfiction is for, girls! ;) Although I guess she foreshadowed it when he was singing with Hagrid and that other bloke at the wedding. But hey, I really doubt that Charlie didn't marry for lack of choice. He probably preferred to remain single. Don't worry, Chris, I'm still going to write you a Charlie/Esme story.

Actually, I find it a bit worrying that Angelina married George, mainly because I fear that they were both looking for a connection with Fred. That doesn't mean the relationship didn't develop, I just think there might have been some unresolved feelings. I like the name Roxanne!

Who the hell is this Audrey person that marries Percy? >( Penelope all the way, I say!

YES! JAMES SIRIUS! I really wish that we could still discuss this on the Sugar Quill so I could go and squeal about it there, because I called it!

Can anybody make out what Lily's middle name is? I thought it was Luna, but it looks too long. I love the names of Luna's children, by the way: Lorcan and Lysander. I actually KNEW a boy called Lysander. He was interested in acting and classically good looking. Almost a cliche, really.

In the actual interview she clarifies that Charlie is not gay (they asked), but just more interested in his work than marrying. IDK, this is always how I saw Charlie- so dedicated to his work that he never married and was totally happy with that. Charlie was the one Weasley I didn't see marrying, although if Fred hadn't died I'm not sure I would have imagined the twins marrying either.

[identity profile] j-a-lie.livejournal.com 2007-12-29 07:49 am (UTC)(link)
Charlie does seem like someone who would forever be chasing dragons.

Ditto on the twins. Fred/Angelina is a potential of angst bucket, now.

Now I don't know whether to incorporate this new information or go on with my own.

[identity profile] haro.livejournal.com 2007-12-29 09:59 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah definitely.

Now I don't know whether to incorporate this new information or go on with my own.

I'm a big Neville/Luna shipper and had developed a fondness for George/Verity. I know I'll always write future!Neville/Luna at least, and I was surprised that I'd come to like George/Verity enough to be a bit let down when she said it was Angelina. I totally acknowledge that what JKR says is word and that's what is canon, but it is a bit easier to deviate from something if it isn't actually in the books.

As for the other new info- I approve of it at all. James Sirius I was pleased to see verified, and Lily Luna has a bit of an odd ring to it but it's nice since both of them consider Luna such a dear friend. Would love to know Rose and Hugo's middle names though.

Well, I never thought Fred and Angelina ended up really hooking up - they went to the Yule Ball together, but also note that nobody who went to the ball ended up with their partner. ;) So I can see it being a platonic connection on both ends they are looking for, and that I don't mind. But yeah, the idea that George is "the next best thing" is a bit off putting, I suppose.

And I was happy about James Sirius too! And no, it can't be discussed on SQ, but there's other places, like Gryffindor Tower and PhoenixSong.

Yeah, I never saw Charlie or the twins marrying. But I think George would need a second half again, and obviously a wife would've been the closest he could get.

[identity profile] haro.livejournal.com 2007-12-29 01:52 pm (UTC)(link)
That's exactly it. It just went without saying for me that eventually George would marry (after I read DH) and of course name his first son Fred. In fact I remember a lot of fans getting upset that Ron and Hermione hadn't named a child Fred and I just thought "dontcha think George did?"

Myself, I'm grateful for two things:
1) That not everyone ended up married with kids. Yes, Jo thinks a family is the ultimate happiness, but trust me, you can live happily without one

2) That not everyone married their classmate. And not married right after school

Oh, I've never thought it was a serious relationship, more that George and Angelina might come together because of the Fred connection. I do like the irony that Angelina ends up marrying George, though. It's good, she's certainly spirited enough and warm enough to soothe George's soul. :) And they both love Quidditch!

I'm currently inspecting new sites to talk about HP. Would you recommend PhoenixSong?

[identity profile] proudofthefish.livejournal.com 2007-12-29 05:30 pm (UTC)(link)
I love your icon. I could never write those three but it makes me wonder if there are fics.

[identity profile] author-by-night.livejournal.com 2007-12-29 06:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Definitely. That, and Gryffindor Tower. Both are really good sites - they're much smaller, so you don't always get the instant replies you get at Sugar Quill, (I've had my posts replied to within two minutes there - at PS and GT it can be a day or two), but more people is always a way to take care of that, right? Plus, being smaller works to it's advantage, I think. I definitely prefer the atmosphere at both.

By the way, the links are under the links thing on my LJ.

[identity profile] j-a-lie.livejournal.com 2007-12-29 08:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Actually, it seems like no one is married right after school, which makes me happy, because when they are finally getting married they are truly ready for it.

[identity profile] j-a-lie.livejournal.com 2007-12-29 08:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Lily Luna is a bit odd given Harry's track record with giving middle names (maybe Luna did something important to his family prior to Lily's birth?), as is Percy naming his daughter Molly.

Oh, and Scorpius Hyperion. No funny acronyms now :/
