First, my friending frenzy is still going on, so if you want to add more friends to your flist or whatnot, take a look!

So in World Literature today, we were watching Hamlet - the Mel Gibson version. (Yes, Mel Gibson - sorry, can't help that the idiot is in that one.) Anyway, while we were watching, I couldn't help but notice how familiar the actress for Ophelia looked. I also noticed how innocent she looked - she really does look tender and all that.

So I went on IMDB just now, to see who it was.

It's the actress who plays Bellatrix in the next Harry Potter film. Bellatrix, for the uninformed, is a sadistic villian who - well, won't spoil for those who haven't read the Harry Potter books, but she's not a likeable person.

I just found that really ironic.

Helena Bonham Carter's been in loads of things--she's been Morgan Le Fay in Merlin, Olivia in Twelfth Night--even an ape in Planet of the Apes. I was actually shocked that she was playing Bellatrix; she's put on a lot of weight lately, and I thought she would be physically unsuited to the role. Still, I suppose she can lose for it!

(Also I hate the Gibson Hamlet with the fire of a thousand suns. Just to say.)

I don't think Gibson as Hamlet is too bad, but he's missing... something.

I dunno about Helena Bonham Carter as Bellatrix - I'm hoping she won't disappoint though, and apparently she's been good with villiany.

Her turn as Morgan le Fay was very good. She also played a dual role in "Big Fish" with Ewan McGregor. If you haven't seen the latter, I highly suggest.
