My issue with the Harry Potter series has always been that the plot of every book is the same at it's core. Voldermort tries to kill Harry (normally right before finals- he's considerate like that) or sends a minion to do the same. Add in some extra drama and occasional camping that goes on far too long, and you've got the series.

It's not a bad series. But it's not rocket science either.
