I remember watching the fourth Doctor when I was a kid, and I saw the one-off TV movie with Paul McGann, so I was excited when they brought it back. So far I've enjoyed all the Doctors Nine through Eleven.

I've enjoyed Torchwood enormously also, even with its penchant for ripping my heart from my chest and stomping on the pieces. Seriously, between the two shows I've cried more from various episodes on a more consistent basis than anything on American TV. You really do become more invested in the characters.

Oh, and you might enjoy the little Harry Potter tie-ins. Doctor Who episode 3X02 (The Shakespeare Code) has a terrific reference, and in Torchwood episode 2X03 (To the Last Man) the actor playing Tommy is Matt Lewis's older brother Anthony.
