Okay, but seriously...
So this morning, I posted a parody of this ad.
Although it's fun to mock, I also think it's important to get serious.
So I have written this.
- There is a storm gathering. The clouds are dark, and the winds are strong. And I am afraid.
- Some who are against homosexuality have taken the issue far beyond their own beliefs.
- They want to bring the issue into my life.
- Basic freedoms have been taken away.
- I am a Maryland doctor who must choose between policy and empathy as my patient's boyfriend waits outside.
- We are New Hampshire teenagers, bullied by our classmates because the Gay-Straight Alliance supports Same Sex Marriage.
- We are Pennsylvania parents helplessly watching public figures tell our child that the love her Mommies feel is not okay.
- I am a Delaware father, helplessly watching my son hide his sexuality from the United States Military.
- But some who are against same-sex marriage have not been content with simply living as they wish.
- These advocates want to decide how I live.
- How my sister lives.
- How my friends live.
- How my dads live.
- They claim who one loves is a choice.
- The storm is coming. But we have hope.
People of all walks of life are coming together in love to promote tolerance.
We can make a change.
