1. Yes, we are canon obsessed, and yes, we freely admit to being a bit opinionated on that time to time. There are brilliant sites wherein canon and fanon can be tossed together like a caesar salad; SQ isn't one of them.

2. Maybe the latter is annoying, but it's just as annoying for those of us who can't find a fic archive - other than SQ - that doesn't have more Draco porn and evilistehsexay fics than fics that I actually recognize as close to canon. We have a right to be canon based.

3. Would you go to a book club meeting and ask why they don't discuss movies?

Is it better than Molly vs. Sirius wank? 'Cos that's what was going on the last time I was at the Quill. Yeah, it's seriously been that long.

Hmmm...Personally, I think I'd take Molly vs. Sirius wank over Snape vs. Sirius wank, mainly because I don't think the first kind is as extreme and tinhatted as the second. I do recall seeing it at the Quill a few months ago.

Do you go by the same name over at SQ? I recall you saying somewhere here or on JF that you've been a Quiller, but I don't recall anyone with a screenname like yours over there...although then again, I'm fairly new (November 2005) and am not on there all the time anymore now that LJ and F_W and hp_cornfield and... have taken over my life.

Molly vs. Sirius wank can be pretty extreme, but generally the people who like Molly also are more inclined to be sympathetic to Sirius unlike Snape and Sirius. I do remember it being quite rabid a while ago. Someone named "Issy" came along and actually got the Sirius thread (aka Teh Reason For My Existence) closed twice - though now that I think of it, I don't remember if that was over Molly or Snape.

I'm Miss E Bennett on the Quill (ages ago, before the standardization of author names and screen names, I was *gulps* Iamthehermionegir1), but I have 300 posts over four or five years and haven't been there in a long while, so you're unlikely to see me.

"Issy"? I think you may be referring to Essi, no? Essi is a rabid Snape apologist. She hates Sirius with a passion and, IIRC, has been the cause of recent reincarnations of the Sirius thread getting shut down in the past month or two. Well, to be fair, there were a couple of people arguing against her, and so it was the collective wank that got the thread shut down. But yeah. There's no point in trying to change her mind; she hates Sirius. I think she actually posted an anti-Sirius rant to a comment I made on theregoesyamum's Neville vs. Snape hp_essays post a week or so ago, but it (her comment) got screened by the mods.

I agree that the Molly vs. Sirius wank tends to be a bit easier to deal with because Molly and Sirius are not as diametrically opposed as Snape and Sirius. That's why I don't mind it as much.

Hmm, yeah, I don't think I've seen you at SQ. Are you on the SQ87 by any chance?

I think the search for 87 is what led me to F_W, so I'm quite thankful for that. :P
