But algorithms also don't work. They hide content we could be interested in, if we had the chance. They hide people we could interact with, if there was only somewhere to meet.
That's a very good point. Or even if you've met! I added a bunch of people to twitter as part of a writing follow thing - sort of like a friending meme, twitter style. But because of the algorithms, I only see a handful of people I follow. I stopped posting because no one ever saw my posts, except for the friends who always liked them. So much lost potential there. :(
