Interesting. I do love Dawn and Tara.

Actually, I kinda felt that way about Joyce. In the first two seasons especially, she existed mostly to be an obstacle for Buffy. She became a compelling character when she was allowed to do more besides get in the way of things. Then they killed her off. Sigh.
