Spoilers are rough. Was it unintentional like my friend? Or intentional?

I unintentionally spoiled a friend for Remus/Tonks, but it was... one of those things where you think you're being clever by stating the opposite of what happens, and instead it's so obvious you're doing exactly that. I felt so bad when my friend pointed that out. But after that, I didn't talk to anyone about the books until I'd finished.
