Disclaimer
In light of this recent version of Kaycee... I've made a disclaimer.
1. I will never, ever, EVER give anyone the impression I am not okay if I really am. If something happens to me, either something really happened, or someone has hacked my LJ/AIM/whatever, and I doubt it would ever be the latter. You'd know. If for some reason you doubt my well being or honesty, email me or someone on my flist who has contact info of people who know me in real life.
2. Know that I take my online friendships extremely seriously. Therefore, don't feel compelled to tell me you lost someone close to you, almost died, or DID die - unless it really happened. I've defriended people I suspected of lying in the past, and believe me, I will not hesitate to do it again.
3. I respond better to knowing something isn't true before I've been in my room crying all day. Actually, any normal human being does.
4. The only untrue thing about me is my last name on some email accounts. Honestly. I might give a general idea of where I live (Baltimore is forty five minutes to an hour and a half away), but I refuse to assume a fake identity.
5. If you find it might be overtaxing to resist the temptation to tell me you dropped dead, had a miscarriage, lost your boyfriend and your parents won't let you go to his funeral because it's too far away, and have had 87 illnesses in one week, because you think it'll be a fun experiment/joke, defriend me. Enough said.
6. Note the avatar used with this entry. I believe in what it says (then again, I made the avatar). Therefore, I value it too much to ever tell someone something happened to me when it didn't, or accept that someone else has been causing me worry when they are probably laughing.
