Seven Facts About Ginny Weasley

More seven facts! This is Ginny. While with Harry I went for about five years later, this follows Ginny over a few years after the war.

1. Ginny loves Harry more than anything. But when they try to pick up where they left off, something doesn't feel right. She realizes they're different people now; Ginny feels similar to Harry as she knew him, having helped lead the student resistance in much the same way he did. But Harry's not that boy anymore. He's a young man who went well beyond that. They hang on for a while, not wanting another painful goodbye; however, when Ginny joins the Holyhead Harpies once she's done Hogwarts, they realize this is it.

2. Ginny loves the Holyhead Harpies at first; but she gradually loses interest in them. Gwenog Jones rules with an iron fist, having no shame in reducing her team to shame. The others are nicer, but Ginny never feels close to them. She remembers when her teammates in Dumbledore's Army were her best friends. None of the girls are incredibly resourceful like Hermione, or open-minded and  unique like Luna, or increasingly determined and brave like Neville. It's just not what she feels a team should be. She likes playing Quidditch enough to remain on the team, but she starts thinking about other careers.

3. For the first time in many years, Ginny starts keeping a diary. It's then that she realizes she really enjoys writing not just about her own life, but about everything around her.  The details of every Quidditch game they play, things that made her laugh, how she does think, for all her flaws, that Gwenog has a soft spot.

When no one's chickens are strangled, and people aren't Petrified, Ginny keeps writing.

4. Ginny finds her way back to Harry. Deep down, she thinks she always knew she would. They have too many ties to be apart for long, and anyway, she's missed him.

5. Ginny also finds delight in becoming part of Harry's other extended family. Andromeda Tonks strikes Ginny as cold at first, but she learns she's a lot like Professor McGonagall - warmer and gentler than she first appears. And Teddy's Metamorphosing makes Ginny think of his Mum, who was very much a spunky mentor to Ginny.

And it's Lyall Lupin, with his specialty in magical beings, who Ginny finally confides into about the things that still haunt her.

6. Ginny soon leaves the Quidditch Team, and is surprised that Gwenog seems sad to see her go. Maybe she had a friend in her all along. But Ginny looks forward to writing for The Daily Prophet, where she knows she belongs .

7. When Harry and Ginny get married, they technically have two weddings. Ginny announces in The Daily Prophet that she looks forward to marrying Harry at Hogwarts, which surprises no one. However, guests who don't even know Harry (yet claim to be very chummy with him) and Rita Skeeter arrive at Hogwarts to find themselves being rained on. With rice. Meanwhile, Harry and Ginny enjoy a wedding at the Burrow, surrounded by the people who matter the most.

It all comes down to teamwork.
