Filk: A Platform that I used to know

The whole LJ debacle, written to the tune of "Somebody That I Used to Know." 

(Note: This isn't me making light of the crummy situation. At all.  It's just how I handle these things.)



Now and then I think back when it all began

When you were a great place to art and write

We were off to such an epic start

Then you went to Six Apart

Maybe that's when it was really over


You get addicted to a certain kind of madness

Like moving to Dreamwidth - never mind, no Dreamwidth

But the latest terms just don't make sense

And they're pissing off all of my friends

Though I'll admit that I am sad it's maybe over


You didn't have to scare us off

Make it out like nothing happened, this was nothing

And I don't even need your blog

To meet friendly strangers and share my thoughts

You didn't have to stoop so low

Making us sign a vague agreement before you'd let us log in

Guess I'm really leaving, so

It's not that we're trying to screw you over

Promising we may be strict about what you post

Can you really not read past the blur?

Do you really want to use tumblr?

You guys just cannot let it go
